DR. KATIE BELL, DDS
Dr. Katie Bell graduated from Hamilton College with a degree in economics. She discovered her love for dentistry while working alongside her mother, Dr. Barbara Bell, as her dental assistant and business manager. She attended dental school at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD) and graduated at the top of her class as Summa Cum Laude; she was also a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society. Dr. Katie clerked at UMSOD’s Special Care and Geriatric program and has experience in mobile dentistry within assisted living facilities. She enjoys geriatric dentistry as much as beautifying a patient’s smile. While Dr. Katie misses working alongside her mother, she remains committed to her legacy of treating all patients with the highest level of care and ethics.
Dr. Katie resides in Frederick with her husband and two children, Hanna and William. She’s an avid athlete, enjoying all sports, and has recently started a garden. She appreciates all tips and tricks to keep her plants alive!

KATRINA TOOMBS, OFFICE MANAGER
Katrina was born and raised in Maryland. She currently resides locally in Keedysville. Katrina has returned to the working world after 18 years of being a stay-at-home mom and homeschooling her three wonderful children. Before that she was an orthodontic assistant and x-ray certified. While assisting in the ortho field Katrina found she loved interacting with patients, so she chose to return to work in a dental office setting.
Outside of the office you will find Katrina spending time with her family or traveling the beautiful byways of the US on the back of a motorcycle with her husband of 26 years. Recently she has enjoyed visiting US cities with very unique names like Uranus, MO and Hell, MI.
Favorite Dental Advice: “Communication with your dental team is key!”
KELLY LANGLEY, FRONT DESK COORDINATOR
Kelly is one of the newest members to our team! She brings over 25 years of customer service experience. She has previously worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, Oracle, and The Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney. Kelly decided to make a career change and leave the corporate world for a better work-life balance. Fun fact, Kelly was once a registered private investigator with The Commonwealth of Virginia.
Kelly is also a local to Frederick County. She enjoys spending time with her husband and dog. Her favorite hobbies include travel, discovering new restaurants, and wineries.
Favorite Dental Advice: “After whitening, avoid dark-colored drinks like coffee, soda, red wine, and black tea.”
TAYLOR TRENARY, REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST
Taylor grew up in Inwood, West Virginia. She first worked as a dental assistant before graduating with high honors as well as the Colgate STAR award from Hagerstown Community College’s dental hygiene program in May of 2021. She is passionate about dental hygiene, patient care, and building trusting relationships with every patient. Her love for dental hygiene grows each day with the guidance of the dental team. You’ll always find her cracking a joke and making people smile.
Outside of the office, she’s often spending time with family, friends, and her fiancé. She loves live music, traveling to new places, visiting breweries, and playing with her dogs, Macy and Molly!
Favorite Dental Advice: “You only have to floss the teeth you want to keep.”
KATE BUTRICK, REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST
Kate grew up in Boonsboro, MD. She worked in an oral surgery office through hygiene school, before graduating with a 4.0 in dental hygiene at Hagerstown Community College’s dental hygiene program. Kate enjoys connecting with her patients and believes that oral hygiene is very important for a patient’s overall health.
Outside of the office, she can be found in the wild as she is quite an avid outdoor sportswoman!
Favorite Dental Advice: “Treat flossing as important as brushing.”
MONICA DIBELLA, REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST
We welcome Monica back on a part-time schedule! Monica has been with the office since 2010, but she has been a stay-at-home mom these past few years after having her triplets and a fourth child. Her hands are full and her days are very busy!
Now that the triplets are in school, Monica has been working on Wednesdays. She has also committed to being a Kindergarden mom, filling her limited free time with classroom parties and craft planning.
We are thrilled she has come back to patient care!
Favorite Dental Advice: “Start children early on good dental care.”
LIZ PHILLIPS, CERTIFIED DENTAL ASSISTANT
Liz was born in Connecticut and raised in New York’s beautiful Hudson River Valley. She graduated from Bennett College in New York and received her dental assisting training at the Fanning School of Allied Health Science in Worcester, Massachusetts. She has been a certified dental assistant since the early 1980’s. Besides assisting, Liz works the front desk and orders all the supplies to keep our office running smoothly.
Liz has been married for over thirty-six years to her husband Geoff. During his twenty-three year Army career they had the opportunity to travel and live in Alaska, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Texas, and Maryland. Liz enjoys gardening, interior decorating, and spoiling her Doberman Pinscher named Miles.
Favorite Dental Advice: “Always use a soft-bristled toothbrush, and change to a new one every three months.”
NICOLE ARMSTRONG, CERTIFIED DENTAL ASSISTANT
Nicole was born, raised, and currently resides in Hagerstown, Maryland. She graduated in May 2016, from Hagerstown Community College receiving her certificate for dental assisting. Nicole has been with our office for over six years, and we are thrilled with her organizational skills and her attention to detail.
Outside of the office, you will find Nicole running aound with her ten-year old daughter and toddling son, spending time with her family, and keeping up with every football game. Don’t forget to ask her about last night’s sport’s scores or tease her if her favorite team loses!
Favorite Dental Advice: “Do NOT eat anything too crunchy or sticky while wearing a temporary restoration.”
LA’NIYA HARRIS, DENTAL ASSISTANT
La’Niya was born in the great state of West Virginia and raised in Brunswick, Maryland. She recently graduated from Hagerstown Community College’s Dental Assisting Program. She is committed to making every patient as comfortable as can be in the dental office. Outside of the office she enjoys caring for her many, many houseplants and spending time with her two ball pythons, Yoshi and Bambi!

DR. BARBARA BELL, DDS, FAGD (RETIRED FROM PATIENT CARE 2023)
Dr. Barbara Bell was born and raised in New York State and was the daughter of two OB/GYN physicians. After working in their offices for many years, she came to know the patients, their families and of course their newborns. Her creative and artistic nature drew her to dentistry. In 1973, Dr. Bell started at Georgetown University School of Dentistry as the youngest female to be accepted at the dental school at that time. Dr. Bell completed her general practice residency at Cornell Universities’ North Shore Hospital where she developed her skills in full mouth reconstruction, implant restoration, cosmetic and general dentistry. Additionally, she studied hospital dentistry and oral surgery under the tutelage of the top Cornell oral surgeons and general dentists. Dr. Bell practiced for six years in Nevada and spent time practicing in the public health service. She returned to the East Coast in 1985, where she became a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and continued to practice for thirty-five years in Frederick. Dr. Bell continues to stay on top of the latest technological developments in dentistry, which is reflected in the design and techniques used in her new office.
Dr. Bell loves animals and enjoys gardening, home design, and spending as much time with her two grandchildren as possible.

SAYING GOODBYE
After more than forty-four years, it is my honor to address all my patient and finally say a heartfelt “goodbye” from patient care. I have reached the point in my career where I feel privileged to let you know how appreciative I am to have been your dentist for so many years and to pass this career on to my daughter, Katherine Bell.
It seems like yesterday that I left Georgetown University School of Dentistry and returned to New York to enter my Residency at Cornell University, North Shore University Hospital. The year was 1978. At a mere nineteen years of age, Georgetown University took a chance on accepting me. I started professional school at the age of twenty, and now I cannot quite believe how quickly time has passed.
I want to thank all my patients in Frederick and surrounding counties who have become a second family to me. Many of you I met when I first came to Frederick, Maryland in 1985. Thanking you doesn’t cover how I truly feel. I have grown up with all of you!
Don’t worry about a difficult transition. I leave you in great hands. Katie graduated from Hamilton College as top of her class and Phi Beta Kappa. She was a business major, and I must confess I stole her from the corporate world. She worked with me behind the scenes as a business consultant as well as chairside, learning every aspect of the dental practice. It wasn’t long before the decision came for her to go to dental school at the University of Maryland. The rest is history. Once again, she finished first in her class; however, she graduated knowing quality of service and integrity are the most important aspects in maintaining the unbelievably fantastic practice we have.
After saying all of this to you, with joy in my heart and tears in my eyes, I can honestly say I have never worked with a more talented, hardworking, and caring group of women. Without these ladies, I could not have delivered the quality of care all 8500 of you patients so deserved. These women are beyond a team. They are so highly trained and motivated, and they make every day a pleasure to walk in the door.
Thank you for listening and trusting me. I will never forget you.
